Why a new forum?
How is this different from Mr. or The Music Salon?

Well, to me, it's because this forum isn't band or genre specific, but era specific. That's a whole different thing.

The difference here is that we are specifically focusing on classic rock music. Some of those "other" forums are covering the entire rock music genre. I wanted something a little more focused towards the music I and a lot of other folks here grew up listening to. That is not to say you can't talk about any rock band that you like, because by all means they are all welcome. The forums can go in any direction that the folks here want. The site itself will however remain focused on the classic groups that defined the course of rock music.

I hope that answers your question adequately enough without being condescending. That's just where I am coming from. I probably should have spelled that out in the very beginning.
