Anybody know anything about this band? I was listening to some music on Pandora last night, and they played a song from them (can't remember which one it was.) The song absolutely rocked!!! I might have to listen to a little more of their catalog.

From Wikipedia

King Kobra was a glam metal group founded by drummer Carmine Appice after his tenure with Ozzy Osbourne in 1984. The band included four relatively unknown musicians: vocalist Mark Free, guitarist David Michael-Philips, bassist Johnny Rod, and guitarist Mick Sweda. After 2 albums on Capitol records (Ready to Strike - November 9, 1985 and Thrill of a Lifetime - 1986), Appice decided to dissolve the band and join guitarist John Sykes on his Blue Murder project in 1989.

Singer Mark Free sang on Ready To Strike, Thrill Of A Lifetime, and parts of The Lost Years. Singer Johnny Edwards sang on King Kobra III and parts of The Lost Years. Singer Marq Torien sang on parts of The Lost Years. Singer Kelly Keeling sang on Hollywood Trash.

Bassist Johnny Rod left the band & joined W.A.S.P. in 1986.

Bassist Lonnie Vincent played on parts of The Lost Years.

Marq Torien, Mick Sweda, and Lonnie Vincent left to play together in the band Bullet Boys.

Mark Free underwent gender reassignment in 1995 and is now known as Marcie.

Yeah, I have 2-3 of those CDs -- I'll have to dig them out again. He also was the singer for Signal and originally for Unruly child (which I both have). Also have his solo "Long Way from Love". He really has (had?) a great voice.

I have no clue what Marcie sounds like now though.

Never heard King Kobra but you got me curious now about Marcie...she has a myspace page:

Looks like the last few songs are sung by "Marcie" who still kinda sounds like a Mark Shocked
